Job Description
? Boat navigation and overall in-charge of vessel;
? Maintain and upkeep of the vessel under your charge;
? Maintain government-issued certification as required;
? Lower and man lifeboats when emergencies occur;
? Stand by wheels when ships are on automatic pilot, and verify accuracy of courses, using magnetic compasses;
? Steer ships under the direction of commanders or navigation officers, following designated courses;
? Monitor and foresee any problems or potential problems arising during daily operations and informing hierarchy of them;
? Any other responsibilities as instructed by the Management.
Requirements
? Minimum Secondary School/NITEC qualification;
? Must possess a Steersman manning license;
? Minimum 2 years working experience;
? Must be physically fit and health;
? Must pass an approved eyesight test;
? Able to do daily checks and maintenance of tugs;
? Able to assist in docking/undocking operations and shifting operations at jetty;
? Able to speak simple English and complete simple reports;
? Prepared to work long hours on weekdays, weekends and on public holidays when required;
? Ability to start work immediately will be an advantage;
